How TMLC Works

Step 1: Evaluate

The Master Learning Center utilizes assessments as a valuable tool to gain insight into students' academic abilities and needs. By analyzing assessment results, educators at the Master Learning Center can identify areas where students excel and areas where they may need additional support.

Step 2: Plan

From the evaluation results, our tutors can plan to personalize their instruction, create individualized learning plans, and provide targeted interventions to help students reach their full potential. We work with the student and family to see the best schedule time and date for both parties.

Step 3: Accomplish

By fostering a love for learning and providing the necessary support and guidance, the center equips students with the skills they need to succeed not only in their academic pursuits but also in their future endeavors. Students can also comfortably ask questions and grasp the material at their own pace to achieve academic mastery.

Tutoring Policies & Procedures

Scheduling

Parents can easily schedule individual tutoring sessions by directly contacting us via phone. For optimal convenience in scheduling, rescheduling, or cancellations, we advise reaching out to the center via phone or sending a message through the website or email.

Families typically opt for tutoring sessions ranging from 1 to 4 times a week, maintaining consistency with the same tutor on designated days and times. This approach establishes a reliable and structured timetable benefiting the student, parent, and tutor alike. In cases where adjustments to the session's timing or day are necessary due to external commitments such as sporting events or medical appointments, it is imperative for tutors and families to inform their tutor at least 24 hours in advance to avoid any associated charges.

Payments & Billing

Running late

In the event of a tutor being delayed, it is imperative that they promptly notify the parent through a call, text, or email. It is expected that the tutor fulfills the entire session duration (1, 1.5, or 2 hours) regardless of the delayed arrival. Families may request session adjustments in cases where the tutor has consecutive sessions, provided that sufficient advance notice is given.

Conversely, if a family anticipates being late, they must inform the center via a call, text, or email. Should the student be on their way, the tutor will wait until the scheduled session end time. However, in the absence of communication after a 15-minute waiting period, the tutor reserves the right to leave, and the family will incur the full session charge.

Refunds

Families can pay for tutoring sessions by debit or credit card. Parents can pay for sessions individually on an as needed These sessions do not expire and can be redeemed at any time.

When parents purchase a package, they opt into auto-renewal. In other words, if a parent purchases a package that includes 4 tutoring sessions, the package will auto-renew upon completion of the 4th session. If the parent books tutoring sessions on an "as-needed" basis, parents will receive an invoice via email.

Late payments will incur a $25 fee for every 15 days the invoice remains overdue. If the payment remains unpaid after 60 days, legal action may be taken against the client.

Refunds will only be given if a tutor does not show up to a tutoring session and the family has already paid for the session and does not want to continue services. Remember, once paid for, our sessions never expire! They can be redeemed at any time. A refund may also be given if the family faced a family emergency and had already paid for a tutoring session that ultimately did not take place.

Make-Up sessions

If the tutor or family cancels a session, the tutor must always contact the family to schedule a make-up session. We advise, for the benefit of the student, that the family and tutor make up any missed session(s) within 2 weeks of the missed session(s).

Cancellation policy

TMLC does not permit last-minute cancellations. Families may cancel up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled tutoring session. If the family cancels the tutoring session less than 24 hours before the session, the family will still be charged for that session in full. We ask that you respect our tutors’ time and do not cancel last minute. If, of course, there is a family emergency or sudden unforeseen illness, the cancellation may be excused.
